Introductions first.

Introducing my newly acquired BMW 335i:

Post motorcycle accident, I needed to get a new set of wheels. I had been riding year round for about five years till one day the unspeakable happened. And now its time to surround myself in a steel cage and airbags.

While recovering I spent a lot of time looking for the replacement of my bike. I knew I wanted a BMW, that it had to have decent power, be a manual transmission, and something I would enjoy for a bit. At first I set my eyes on the M3/M4 as they are incredible cars. But since I'm renting and wouldn't be able to park in a garage, and returning to work after a long disability, I wanted to keep the price point down. This turned me into the direction of the 335i. They are gorgeous cars, make good power, and from what I read, are a lot of fun to drive.

So I set out searching for one and at first fell victim to the good ole bait and switch from a shady dealership. But a week later I found an ad for one in an awesome price point. Which I found out was due to a salvaged title, but considering I'm mechanically inclined, as long as there wasn't any serious damage, I could handle just about anything else.  So I called the guy and set up a test drive.

And Wow!! I was blown away. She handled incredibly well, drove amazingly, and the power was awesome. At just about any rpm, she wouldn't hesistate, it was great! And by the end if it I was giddy. But I didn't want to rush into it so I told the guys I'd take a couple days to mull it over. Called my parents to get their thoughts, just to make sure I was being sensible. Checked the carfax to ensure there was no support or frame damage. And then called him back with an offer. After a quick negotiation, the sale was set. I picked her up the next day and haven't looked back. Been loving it ever since.

Now that I've had her for a few weeks, I'm noticing a few mechanical things that will require attention soon, but I'm more than comfortable attacking them myself, like the tensioner and pulleys replacement. Just started to chirp on cold starts so those will be ordered shortly. But considering the price point I got her in, and my capabilities, I'm all for throwing in a little extra love and care. And it will create opportunities for more write ups as I work though the maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

So without further ado, and freshly washed, my recently acquired 2012 BMW 335i.
